What is Home Watch?
The National Home Watch Association defined Home Watch as “a visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues.” As Accredited Members of the NHWA, we abide by this definition and it’s application as we do our visits.
What Home Watch is not?
Property Managers: A home watch service is not a property manager. A property manager accepts rent payments, finds tenants, and offers other services. A Home Watch Service does not accept money from tenants, find tenants, etc.
Security Services: A home watch service is not a security service. A security service or company responds to burglar, intrusion, and fire alarms. A home watch service does not respond to these types of situations. A home watch service can be on a list to call to respond as a key holder after the security service and/or police have checked and secured the perimeter of the home.
House or pet sitters: A home watch service is not a house sitting service. A house sitter stays overnight in the home. A home watch Services does not stay in the home overnight.
A home watch service does not pet sit.
Home Inspector: A home watch service is not a home inspector. A home inspector has had extensive training, is insured and may also be required to be licensed in order to inspect the installation of electrical, heating systems, the roof, etc. A home watch does not inspect homes. A home watch surveys, checks and watches the home or property while it is unoccupied or vacant.
Why do I need a Home Watch Service?
A Home Watch Service helps your property stay secure and maintained while you’re away by providing regular inspections, addressing maintenance issues, ensuring insurance compliance if required, collecting mail, and responding to emergencies, giving you peace of mind your property is looked after and attended too.
After each visit we send a report for each visit to the client with pictures and details of any problems. When bigger problem occur, we will call and speak to the client in person
We have a neighbor watch our home while we are away, isn’t that ok?
Family and neighbors great assets to have on your side. However, they are often very busy with their lives and may forget or may not know what to check for when walking through the house. They may not be as thorough as a professional home watch business.
What Frequency should I have my home inspected?
Azure Skies Home Watch Service, recommends weekly or bi weekly visits to the home to perform through consistent property checks.
Is Azure Skies Home Watch willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement to protect our privacy?
Yes, we understand some clients would like complete privacy when it comes times to others to having access to their homes/properties. We would be happy to execute an NDA to fully protect the client’s privacy.
What does Home Watching cost, can you provide pricing?
To provide proper pricing for our service, we would like to schedule a visit to see your property and discuss your individual needs.
How will I know when you have visited my home?
Every time Azure Skies Home Watch visits your property, you will be sent an electronic, GPS time and date stamped, report showing the condition of your property at the time of the visit.
What hours does the home watch office operate?
Our office hours are Monday thru Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
We are also available on evening and weekend in emergency situations.
What are your Credentials?
The National Home Watch Association ( NHWA) credentials indicate that a home watch service adheres to high standards of professionalism, including certification, training, insurance, adherence to a code of ethics, continuing education, and accountability. These credentials assure clients of reliable and high-quality service. Azure Skies Home Watch has been accredited with the NHWA and I have been trained and certified as an NHWA Home Watch Professional.
Do you make repairs in my home?
As a Home Watch professional we can make minor household repairs that do not require a license contractor.
Do you recommend vendors to help make repairs?
We do share our listing of vendors that we and our clients have have been satisfied with. We will offer a couple of names for you to choose from. We can help coordinate the work by providing access to home as directed by the clients.
